Music and imagery sessions for adults
Guided sessions using carefully chosen music, breathing and relaxation to help you rest, reset and build inner resources.
What are music and imagery sessions?
These sessions use Supportive Music and Imagery (SMI), an approach that grew out of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM). You'll be guided into a relaxed state, then listen to a carefully chosen piece of music while noticing the images, feelings or memories it brings. Afterwards you'll often make a simple drawing, and we talk together about what came up.
The approach is supportive and focused on strengths. It's about calm, comfort and building resources, not digging into difficult experiences.
I hold a Certificate in Supportive Music and Imagery from the Integrative GIM Training Programme, and I'm an HCPC registered music therapist (registration ). SMI works well online, and no musical experience is needed.
Sessions are usually short-term, with the aim of leaving you with resources and techniques you can keep using for self-care.
